About APHM

The Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia (APHM), established in 1972, is the national representative body for Malaysia’s private hospitals and medical centres. With 166 member hospitals nationwide, APHM represents the majority of licensed private healthcare providers in the country.

As the collective voice of the private healthcare sector, APHM works closely with the Ministry of Health, government agencies, regulators, and industry stakeholders to enhance the quality, accessibility, sustainability, and competitiveness of healthcare services in Malaysia.

APHM member hospitals play a vital role in complementing the public healthcare system by expanding healthcare capacity, improving access to care, supporting economic growth, and contributing to Malaysia’s medical tourism industry.

The Association actively participates in healthcare reform initiatives, policy discussions, and strategic consultations on areas including healthcare financing, DRG implementation, workforce development, digital transformation, productivity, regulatory improvement, and long-term sustainability.

Committed to patient safety and healthcare excellence, APHM collaborates with key organisations and agencies to promote best practices, quality improvement, and higher healthcare standards. The Association also organises educational programmes, leadership forums, and its flagship International Healthcare Conference and Exhibition (IHCE) to foster knowledge sharing, innovation, and industry collaboration.
